Growth Groups

A Growth Group is a group made up of 5-15 people who meet weekly to share, study and support one another. We really believe that life gets better with friends and faith, so we want everyone to be a part of a growth group.

We’ve provided a list of the most popular questions we get about growth groups, along with a link to sign up for current groups meeting this semester.

Growth Groups meet on various nights of the week in homes throughout Louisville and beyond. Most evening groups meet between 6:00pm and 9:00pm. The daytime group meeting times vary.

Each Growth Group semester lasts 9 to 11 weeks. We offer Fall, Winter & Spring groups. At the end of each session, you will have the choice of staying in the same group, trying a new group or even taking a break. Most groups stay together throughout the entire year. Growth Groups do not meet June through August.

Joining a Growth Group requires a 9 to 11 week commitment to attend weekly meetings and discuss the sermon questions.

Commitment is the key to a strong Growth Group. We have found that you will get out of it what you put into it. Every group has a 4-week grace period to make sure it’s a good fit for you.

When selecting a group, we strongly recommend you choose a group based on its leader and common relationships.

Our groups are gender based so we offer men and women groups open to any age (adults), marriage status, season of life, and location. What’s most important is fit.

If you have any questions (especially if you are new to Hope City Church), please don’t hesitate to call the church, and we will gladly assist you. Keep in mind that it might take two or three groups before you find the perfect fit, but don’t worry, you’ll find it!

Growth Groups are intended for adults only. (Of course exceptions can be made for nursing newborns, etc.) We leave it up to each group to work out their own child care needs. Sometimes it works best for to share a sitter, swap child care with another person whose Growth Group meets on a different evening, or have a spouse watch the children.

If you aren’t able to find childcare check with your small group leader for a possible solution.

Before each Growth Group semester begins there are three ways to sign up for a group – online, at our weekend services, or by calling the church office. Each weekend service you are handed a sermon guide as you walk in. The guide provides the growth group questions and a list of all available groups meeting that week. If you see a group listed that you want to attend send the leader an email or sign up online (when a group semester is in session) to let the leader know you’re coming.

You can call the church office at any time to speak to a  staff member who can assist you in finding and signing up for a group, or answer any questions at (502) 363-0182

Brad’s Hope Story

Brad stopped going to church as a teenager and followed the wrong crowd into a life that turned his heart angry and bitter. Years later, Brad saw the change in his wife after she committed her life to Christ and knew it was time to give God control of his life too.

Hope City Church shares Real Hope so people like Brad can experience Real Life.
