Day #19

Take A Leap of Faith (James 2:14-17)

When faith is without action it can become an unfulfilled dream

James 2:14-17
What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?  Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.  If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?  In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

James says that faith without works is dead; that also means faith with works is alive. When faith is without action it can become an unfulfilled dream.  If you have faith that God is leading you, but you do not follow or act on it, then faith can turn into doubt and your inaction can lead to death; the death of your faith and the death of your dream. This is a horrible state in which to exist.

We must do something with the word not just hear it. It's normal to hear the word, get excited, and then… ponder.

It's challenging to be dedicated to something that you can’t see; especially if were the only ones excited about it, so the big question  is HOW. How are you going to act on your dream?

Take a leap! It's better to jump and fall, than be stuck. Go ahead and jump; Make that leap of faith and try God.

Prayer: God, show me how I can actively demonstrate my faith today. Help me overcome my doubts and courageously leap in the direction of my dreams.
